ICLEI Oceania expands its capacity and welcomes our new Programs and Partnerships Lead

ICLEI Oceania welcomes Sharin Govender as the new Programs and Partnerships Lead. Sharin is an environmental consultant with 18 years of experience in the fields of climate change, energy, and environmental science. She has worked in South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria, where she developed climate change mitigation policies, delivered low-carbon and energy transition projects, and institutionalized climate action and SDG localization at the intermediate City level.

Sharin will be assuming the GCoM Helpdesk role, supporting CitiesWithNature including the new Academy, and developing new partnerships, particularly in Western Australia and New Zealand. Her extensive experience in influencing environmental planning processes and understanding environmental regulatory frameworks in addition to mobilizing climate finance and partnerships make her a valuable addition to the ICLEI Oceania team.
