Over 100 people joined the CitiesWithNature: Greening the Private Realm webinar to learn how local governments can play a vital role to engage and motivate communities in valuing nature in our homes and urban areas.

Belinda Bean of Greener Spaces Better Places launched the Let’s Grow Report and took us on a deep dive into how to tap into different population segment needs to encourage urban greening.

Cassandra Nichols of EarthWatch Institute Australia shared the Living Melbourne Report and spotlighted examples of councils and practitioners leading urban greening initiatives that are motivating and engaging communities. 

Mayor Michael Hewitson AM of City of Unley, SA, shared how they are using light detection and ranging, known as LiDAR, as an effective tool on policy and planning. 


Mayor Greg Christensen of Scenic Rim Regional Council, Qld, shared how they have dramatically increased forest cover through landholder partnerships in one of Australia’s cherished eco-tourist destinations
