ICLEI supports Chinese cities to develop urban climate change adaptation plans

ICLEI Oceania and East Asia regional offices are part of a consortium engaged by the Asia Development Bank to support three pilot cities in China to develop Urban Climate Change Adaptation plans. ICLEI Oceania took a lead in developing Technical Guidelines tailored for the Chinese context and planning workshops were due to commence in Zhuhai, Changde and Xixian just as the virus struck.  The training plan has been adjusted accordingly and introductory online workshops were held with Changde and Xixian in April, with Zhuhai ready to commence. As soon as possible it is hoped to pivot to more traditional face-to-face workshops to accelerate planning and enter the implementation phase.
