New face for Global Covenant of Mayors Oceania

We are very pleased to announce that Ms Jyoti Prasad has been appointed GCoM Helpdesk Officer for the Pacific Islands.  Jyoti is a PhD candidate at the University of the South Pacific (USP) researching Climate Change and its effects on ecosystems impacting communities' food security and livelihood. Jyoti also holds a Master of Science in Climate Change, Post Graduate Diploma in Geography, and Bachelor of Education. She has 19 years experience in teaching, of which the last 11 years have been at USP Vanuatu and Fiji Campus. 

Jyoti will be the first port-of-call for Pacific Island towns and cities which have already signed up to the Global Covenant of Mayors, or who would like to know more about this important international climate program.  She will be based in Suva and work closely with ICLEI Oceania, the Commonwealth Local Government Forum and the UN Disaster Office.
